I’ll never forget talking to a friend about the 2016 presidential. election during the 2020 race. I asked him why he felt that Trump won and Hillary lost. His response was one word - “Russia”. It became very clear to me that when bias is in play, those caught up in it will happily accept any lie tossed their way no matter how much it’s been revealed to be so.
And if we ever were to discuss Hunter’s laptop, I’m sure he’d quickly remind me that that was also Russia. Let’s face it, it’s very hard to argue with stupidity.
What goes around comes around. Sadly, US operatives have been meddling in foreign affairs, including elections, for decades. For instance, I believe that western nations destabilized the Middle East on purpose. We’ve watched as one leader after another has been deposed (or killed), only to result in more chaos in those nations.
Of course, elections have never been completely honest or secure in the US. LBJ’s rise to the senate and presidency as JFK’s replacement is a perfect example. A man called the “Duke of Duval” in Texas saw to it that LBJ won the Democratic primary, and you know the rest of the story.
